Professional Development
Two Programs. One Mission.
KNOW YOUR PART
Preparing Tomorrow's School Leaders
For universities and administrator-preparation programs
Understanding special education law is one thing. Recognizing how its requirements apply to the everyday decisions of a school administrator is another.
Know Your Part helps bridge the preparation-to-practice gap, connecting what aspiring administrators learn in the classroom to the responsibilities and decisions they'll encounter as school leaders.
Through practical examples, real-world leadership scenarios, and engaging discussion, participants explore how operational decisions within their future leadership roles can affect special education obligations, where their responsibilities intersect with those of other administrators, and how to approach those decisions with greater clarity and confidence.
NO SILOS LEADERSHIP
Connecting the Dots for Today's School Leaders
For school districts, practicing administrators, and district leadership teams
Special education is often treated as a silo, even though its implementation depends on decisions made throughout the district.
No Silos Leadership helps practicing administrators examine how decisions within their respective areas of authority affect special education requirements, where responsibilities intersect, and how disconnected decision-making can create barriers to implementation.
Through real-world leadership scenarios, facilitated discussion, and collaborative problem-solving, teams explore ways to strengthen communication, clarify responsibilities, and develop coordinated workflows that support consistent, sustainable special education implementation.
Flexible Formats
Whether preparing aspiring administrators or supporting experienced district leadership teams, each program can be tailored to your audience, organizational priorities, and professional learning goals.
60-Minute Seminar: An engaging overview of the connections between special education requirements, administrative responsibilities, and everyday leadership decisions. Participants leave with a clearer understanding of the special education system and questions to consider within their own roles.
2–3 Hour Session: An interactive examination of role-specific responsibilities and interconnected decisions through real-world scenarios, facilitated discussion, and collaborative problem-solving. Participants deepen their understanding of how leadership decisions affect special education implementation.
Full-Day Workshop: An immersive experience that allows participants to examine complex leadership challenges, identify where responsibilities and decisions intersect, and explore communication and workflows that support more coordinated, sustainable practices.
Sessions may be delivered in person or virtually. For districts seeking a more sustained approach, customized follow-up sessions are available to support continued examination and refinement of leadership systems.
The Principal's Special Education Calendar is available as a companion resource, offering a practical, month-by-month guide to help school leaders connect professional learning to their ongoing responsibilities.
